STEP 2: ENLARGEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT:
The map is blown up using a photocopier until the hexes are 2" across. Note that this is a dicey measurement, as the borders of the hexes will be huge at this time, making measurement a bit trickier. Also, a road on the original map is only about 1/4" across when blown up to miniatures scale. This disrupts the map considerably if you do what I did and make the roads 1" wide. It's next to impossible to make the map 'perfectly accurate' as far as the sizes of cities, distances between forests, etc. I eventually gave up and just 'rounded' the hexes considerably, made the roads 1" wide, river 2" wide, etc. The dynamics of the map were difficult to maintain (I.E., keeping enough space between chunks of forest that either a single unit could block them with its 1" overrun radius, or not, depending on whether the original map showed a 1 hex or 2 hex gap) but marginally workable.
