STEP 1: LAYOUT AND FITTING:
Initial layout. This was the step I skipped with the hexes that would
have saved me an awful lot of trouble. Be sure everything fits, first!
Dai chin chicken may be helpful but is optional at this stage. Note the
gap where the lake will be. Cutting all the pieces at once and cutting
them carefully and identically is good, but you still need to verify that
they'll fit by piecing them all together. At this stage I number each
piece on the underside so I can keep them next to pieces they fit
with...If your rectangles aren't all identical and perfect, some will fit
better next to others. Test fit and number them so you can keep them
correct. Tape them together on top and bottom with Scotch (cellophane)
tape. It'll peel off easily later and you want the board to all to be in
one coherent block when you transfer your map onto it.
