DATE: Tuesday, September 4, 1997 Place: The clearing that was once the Caern ---- Recall start ---- Megan slips in from the north, then heads towards the center and the gathering Garou there. You turn to the south and make your way back to the hub of the Wheel. Center of the Great Wheel Contents: Scott Anne Morgan Andrea Alexander Broken Table Stone On the eastern curve, Joseph heads into the center. On the northern curve, Brightspot emerges from the thin treeline to the north. On the southern curve, Esther strides from among the trees, and heads for the center with her packmate. On the southern curve, Heart-of-Fury heads into the center and tracks for Megan, bumping against her leg. On the southern curve, Heart-of-Fury heads into the center. On the southern curve, Esther heads into the center. On the southern curve, Reggie heads into the center. On the western curve, Eamon works his way free of the dense treeline to the west. On the northern curve, Brightspot doesn't leave the treeline, instead lowering herself down within the shadows. Reggie follows Esther, looking about inquisitively before speaking in hushed tones to Esther. On the western curve, BJ heads into the center. Esther nods to the others. Andrea's eyes go behind Alexander, to Peacekeeper's approach. She then looks back at Alexander and motions with her right hand between the two of them. "I need an ahroun, preferably one with that rite. You two are the ones I know that have it. You would serve well either way, so I will leave the choice between you." On the western curve, Hank works his way free of the dense treeline to the west. Alexander blinks, suddenly looking a lot less certain than he did a few minutes ago. He looks from Andrea to the Warder. "Well, sir, I won't pretend I could do a better job fighting than you can. On the other hand, I've only done the Rite a few times." On the southern curve, Stormcloud comes in from the woodland to the south. On the southern curve, Anna comes in from the woodland to the south. On the southern curve, Stormcloud heads into the center. Stormcloud makes his way hurriedly from the south to join the others. On the northern curve, Peacekeeper tilts his head, considering the mild dilemma. Perhaps you can do it, a younger ahroun as a symbol of rebirth. On the southern curve, Anna heads into the center. Andrea turns to the others, her eyes first going to Anne. A slight half-smile touches her lips as she says, "I need one of each auspice, actually. Knowledge of the rite is preferable, but not necessary." She frowns at the absolute lack of ragabash in the immediate area. On the eastern curve, Clouded Sky pads in from the east, her tail curled over her back in anticipation. Esther leans to make a quiet comment to Reggie. Not quiet enough that those nearest can't hear, and not loud enough to interrupt other conversations. "You go with whoever is organising the defence, once it's announced."Then she moves towards the Ritemistress. Near the Pool, Seeker watches the conversation in the center quietly. Anne spreads her hands. "I don't know it," she admits, glancing around. "Scott, do you?" On the western curve, Eamon heads into the center. On the northern curve, Reed emerges from the thin treeline to the north. Eamon joins his packmates. On the eastern curve, Clouded Sky heads into the center. Alexander nods to Peacekeeper. "If that's what you want, certainly." Scott shakes his head negatively. "I don't. I don't think any of the gibbous moon do." On the western curve, Hank heads into the center. On the northern curve, Brightspot is laying in the shadows of the trees, more in the woods still than in the clearing. Her head is down on her paws as she watches those in the center. On the southern curve, Patrick comes in from the woodland to the south. Anne glances down at the lupus-form Heart-of-Fury. "Do you know it?" she asks him. Reggie nods solemnly to Esther, and folds his arms as he watches the organizers sort out the crowd. On the southern curve, John comes in from the woodland to the south. On the southern curve, Patrick waves at Andrea, calling, "You rang?" Stormcloud makes his way towards Andrea, sitting not too far from her. Heart-of-Fury indicates that he does not know the Rite either. On the western curve, Shadow-of-Blood works his way free of the dense treeline to the west. On the southern curve, John makes his way toward the Wheel, attention focusing toward the center. On the eastern curve, Dillan makes his way out of the woods to the east. On the eastern curve, Shakes makes his way out of the woods to the east. Andrea's lips quirk as Patrick appears. She doesn't call out in return, but she does wave him on into the center. On the southern curve, Patrick heads into the center. BJ grins and waves at Shakes. Patrick says "Wha'cha need?" Anne spreads her hands again as she looks at Andrea. "I know quite a few Rites, including Moot, but I've not learned this one yet." Near the Pool, Elan appears in a glimmer of light. On the western curve, JJ Malone works her way free of the dense treeline to the west. On the eastern curve, Dillan sneaks into the Wheel, making sure to circle around to the east before entering, even if the caern isn't exactly a caern anymore. He pads off towards the pool. On the eastern curve, Shakes pads in out of the woods, the scent of the city heavy upon him. He wags his tail in a general greeting and gives a quiet chuff to BJ. On the eastern curve, Dillan heads back to the south and the pool. Esther asks, "Which Rite are we talking abou, here?" On the northern curve, Peacekeeper heads into the center. On the eastern curve, Shakes heads into the center. Peacekeeper contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Peacekeeper shifts into Homid form. Scott says "Opened Caern." Robert shifts up as he walks forward, and whispers something in Alexander's ear. Near the Pool, Elan heads into the center. On the southern curve, John makes his way toward the center, stopping near his packmate. On the southern curve, John heads into the center. Shakes contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Elan walks into the center, looking composed. Shakes shifts into Homid form. Heart-of-Fury contorts and blurs as he is transformed. On the western curve, Hershey works her way free of the dense treeline to the west. Alexander nods at Robert's whisper, looking a little relieved. "That sounds best, yeah. I can go for that." Heart-of-Fury shifts into Homid form. Joseph asks Andrea, "You need a theurge, still?" Andrea turns to look at Anne and nods. She spreads her hands and calls out, "All right. I'm going to explain what I and Morgan and Joseph have worked out. I'm taking volunteers, but remember that the defenders have no less an important part to play." She glances toward the pool. "Someone said Shea was on the other side. Can someone go get her, while I quiet the mob?" The last is said with a touch of humor. Esther nods, and gives her head a little shake. A comment that she doesn't know it either would be kind of redundant, really. Megan gives Heart-of-Fury a glance, then says, "She's been told." Near the Pool, Thatcher appears in a glimmer of light. On the western curve, Hershey lopes in at a dead run, shaggy ears flying, tongue flapping out of her gaping muzzle. She skids to a halt, large paws scrabbling the dirt, and barks. Boss! Ya here? Elan makes his way over to his packamtes, then moves to Join Morgan and Esther, head bowed to confer with them. Jimmy Wilson shifts up, then grabs a crinkly plastic bag of gumdrops from his pocket. He stares at Esther for a moment, contemplating, then looks about at everyone else. The candy is held out for anyone to take it, should they want any. Near the Pool, Dillan's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool. Alexander looks around, taking a moment to locate Hershey. He waves her over, looking a little surprised to see her, but most of his attention remains on the Athro Gaian. On the western curve, JJ Malone shies away from Hershey, then she and Merin skirt around everyone in the center to head for the pool to follow after Dillan. On the western curve, JJ Malone follows the Wheel to the Windy Spot. Stormcloud gives his packmate a nosebump, then turns his full attention on Andrea. In the Windy Spot, JJ Malone follows the Wheel past the Windy Spot. On the southern curve, JJ Malone follows the Wheel to the Pool. Reggie stares at the candy in Jimmy's hand, before weakening and taking several gumdrops. Near the Pool, JJ Malone's eyes stop on her reflection in the pool. Near the Pool, Dillan gazes into the pool, and suddenly he vanishes. Near the Pool, Thatcher pads toward the center, giving herself only the slightest of shakings, before going on. Near the Pool, Thatcher heads into the center. Near the Pool, JJ Malone gazes into the pool, and suddenly she vanishes. BJ restrains himself from diving into Jimmy's hand....by pulling a few Slim Jims out of his pocket. He grins at Jimmy. "Trade?" On the western curve, Hershey's tail starts wagging like a banner. Tongue lolling, the tall mutt weaves her way through the collected Garou until she reaches Alexander. On the western curve, Hershey heads into the center. Anna shakes her head, finally focusing on the activity buzzing around her. Jimmy Wilson takes a Slim Jim. "Sure," he says. Robert nods at Alexander's reply, then quietly mentions that he, as Warder, will take the place of ahroun. Hershey bumps up against Alexander's legs, tail still wagging, wet nose twitching in a state of high excitement. BJ grins and snags a couple gumdrops. Alexander turns back to Hershey. "Pete sent you? I guess he's staying in the city tonight, then?" On the western curve, Christian works his way free of the dense treeline to the west. On the western curve, Christian heads into the center. Hershey whurfs an affirmative. Yeah, and he told me to get my ass out here. Thank Mama, I was startin' to go fuckin' stir-crazy. Damn! Bigass lotta shit tonight, yeah? Andrea takes in a breath and lets it out slowly. She gives another distracted smile to the group at large, then says, "The first thing we need to do is call Fog to us. Untouchables is here, with their totem, to help with that." She motions toward the pool where Untouchables is vanishing. "I will work with them, with a rite like that I use to call totems to willing packs. That brings us to the next part of the rite, which is actually two parts in one. Morgan will lead those that Summon the Wylding." Another gesture indicates the Fury, "I have given her the spirit's name. I know that Esther and Elan are willing to help her, at least, and much of our other strength will need to go there as well. At the same time, we will show the closing of the caern, and then open it. For that I need a member of each auspice." Andrea falls quiet and looks among the throng of Garou. Thatcher stops, near Alexander, and sits, indicating that she has news, but not pressing the issue. Near the Pool, Sepdet appears in a glimmer of light. Jimmy Wilson scratches idly behind an ear. Eamon heads southeast to the pool. Near the Pool, Eamon's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool. Alexander nods. "Yeah. Biggest thing I've ever seen, anyway." He motions for Thatcher to go on. "What'd you find?" Clouded Sky shifts her weight. She will volunteer, though she is but young, if one of the gibbous moons is needed. Near the Pool, Moondancer appears in a glimmer of light. Near the Pool, Seeker nods to Sepdet. Near the Pool, Sepdet materializes on her feet, but nearly falls over, forgetting that the person she's leaning against takes longer to arrive than she would. She's propping her full weight on the Strider cub. Near the Pool, Eamon gazes into the pool, and suddenly he vanishes. Hershey sits her butt down on the ground and scratches vigorously behind one ear, front paws splayed for balance. Anne turns slowly to scan the Wheel, choosing out Scott and Steven again. She asks, quietly, "Does either of you want that position, for the Galliard? Since none of us know the Rite..." Near the Pool, Seshemw appears in a glimmer of light. Near the Pool, Moondancer shifts her arm enough to ensure Sepdet stands as soon as she gets through. Thatcher indicates that she has spoken with a spirit-wolf, and that he has agreed to lend his senses to those who guard. She hopes that it will be enough. Megan glances over Esther, considering, but then turns to Andrea and said, "I've already offered to help where I can. I'd like to be part of it, if you'll have me." Morgan says "I think I'd like to throw my weight behind the defense of the ritualists, Anne-rhya. I've never been real good at the the spooky theurge things." Near the Pool, Cutter appears in a glimmer of light. Near the Pool, Seshemw stays by the pool and Sepdet while he listens. Stormcloud does not sdpeak up, having already spoken with Andrea earlier. Alexander smiles. "I'm sure it will be. Was he big, do you think? Big enough to cover everyone? Or should I start splitting us up?" Thatcher also states that she must now speak with Quiet, and rises once more, to pad toward the elder theurge. She does, however, stop, and turn back to answer Alexander. Use your judgment, Thunder's-Claws. He was a male, big enough, but there are sometimes too many of us. Scott gives Christian a small wave of greeting as he sees the Fang but keeps his attention focused on the elders in the center. He then looks to Anne and says,"As I understand it, you've got a better understanding of Rites and the mystic than probably Steven and I put together. I think you'd be the better choice. I'll defend." On the southern curve, Moon Otter comes in from the woodland to the south. Andrea nods at Megan. She looks at the Talon half-moon next to her and turns to looking at the two ragabash remaining, since Eamon went to the Umbra. Clouded Sky looks to Anne, waiting to see if she wishes the position for herself. Patrick hrms as he looks over at the Gnawer. "You know Caern Opening?" Alexander nods, then starts to look around. Thatcher continues on her trek to Andrea, and sits near her, to wait. Hershey leaves off chasing fleas for a while and sits near Alexander's feet, tongue lolling from her whiskery muzzle, almost quiveringly alert. Near the Pool, Eamon appears in a glimmer of light. Jimmy Wilson shakes his head at Patrick. "Nah. It ain't like a Grand Opening at Wal-Mart, I bet." Near the Pool, Sepdet clears her throat. ~Alexander, Kshema can...diffuse...slightly...in the area where my pack is, probably enough at least circle the bawn close to the Wheel proper, enough to give us warning if something penetrates that far. Wind's at the defenders' disposal.~ On the southern curve, Moon Otter heads into the center. Moon Otter has arrived. Anne glances down at Clouded Sky, asking her, as a grimace of pain crosses the elder Galliard's face, ~Do you know Rites?~ Near the Pool, Eamon heads into the center. Alexander nods to Sepdet. "That would be great. Every level of warning we can get will give us that much more of an edge." Clouded Sky lifts her head as she is spoken to. I know two rites. I do not know this one, but my heart is strong in the way of spirits. Near the Pool, Sepdet dips her eyes and murmurs a question to her Strider packmate. Anne hesitates, then asks, ~Which Rites?~ Stormcloud swivels an ear towards Clouded Sky and Anne, listening in. Near the Pool, Seshemw gives Sepdet a response, tapping the staff on the ground for light emphasis. Patrick :grins wryly at Jimmy. "No, but you can follow the lead if need be. I don't know it either." Esther makes some comment to Morgan and Elan, speaking quietly. After coming into the Wheel, Brian heads immediately over towards his packmates. Clouded Sky responsds with an arched neck, certain in her knowledge and yet not wishing to overstep her place. I can perform the Gathering for the Departed, and Unfettered Dreaming. Elan confers with Morgan and Esther, quietly. He nods a few times as they talk together, and slips off his cammo jacket. Anne says to Andrea, "I think Scott's reasoning applies here, too, but I am willing to stand aside if need be." Jimmy Wilson just shrugs at Patrick. "I'm here ta help, however I can. And if there's a kegger afterwards, well... bonus!" Near the Pool, Sepdet confers with Seshemw for a moment before giving him a sharp nod. ~You'd better do patrol under Thunder's Claws then. We're more used to the dark anyway; you keep your eyes peeled.~ Near the Pool, Moondancer simply stands, listens, and supports her teacher. Near the Pool, Seshemw nods to Sepdet, ~Long as you keep my ears full.~ Andrea frowns thoughtfully, looking at Clouded Sky. Her voice harshens as she shifts into Garou, ~How far past your change are you?~ Clouded Sky turns her focus to Andrea, becoming more sure of herself. I am nearly a full turning past my Rite of Passage. Scott glances slightly dubiously in the Talon Galliard's direction before wandering vaguely over toward Alexander. He asks the Shadow Lord quietly,"They put you in charge of defensive assignments tonight, or something?" Moon Otter hovers around the outskirts of the large cluster of Garou while Clouded Sky is conversing with Anne. When they are finished, he moves in closer to join his packmate, though it is obvious the large crowd has unnerved him. Alexander shakes his head. "No, I've just kind of taken the initiative. I figure Brian or Anna will take over soon." Stormcloud straightens up a bit as Clouded Sky comes under scrutiny. Megan looks over her shoulder as Brian arrives, giving him a hard, brief smile, and a soft, "Hey, chief." Noticing Brightspot for the first time, she throws a be-right-back look, and slips through the crowd to the northern edge. You make your way along the pathway to the north, between two Wheel quarters. Northern Curve of the Wheel Contents: Brightspot Isaac At the center, Hershey tilts her head to look up at Scott as rhe Fang addresses the Lord. Her tail thumps the ground a bit, but mostly she just stays quiet and sticks by her alpha and packmate. At the center, Anna snorts softly at Alexander. "Me? I'm just sitting here. Dumb Get Ahroun. Point; I'll kill it." There is an undertone of good humor in Anna's voice that has been missing for the past few months. Near the Pool, Sepdet pats Moondancer's shoulder and whispers something to her, nodding after a moment. ~All right.~ At the center, Andrea doesn't seem to be critizing, but she makes a thoughtful noise. ~Not quite as young as I'd like, but it might be enough.~ She turns to Megan and says, ~If you will play the crone for the rite, that is. You rank Stormcloud in experience and status, but he doesn't have your years. He can't play crone, and you can.~ At the center, Steven offers Brian a quick but nervous grin and he frowns as he follows Megan's path north toward the cub. At the center, Thatcher, sitting near Andrea, huffs a greeting to Brian, tail thumping the ground once. At the center, Alexander snickers softly at the Get, then amends, "Or Brian will." Brightspot's tail gives a few slow wags as Megan approaches, but the cast of her ears saddens her posture. I told him, the cub tells the elder Fianna quietly. At the center, Scott inclines his head a little and looks to the two elder ahrouns briefly. Even though the moon's slim to nothing in the sky, the Fostern Fang seems more than a little on edge. At the center, Andrea sees Megan's back as she turns to talk, and waits for the fostern to return before pressing the group onward. At the center, Brian flashes Megan a slight grin. He's shown up tonight wearing what's normal moot-attire for him: undyed linen laine, colorful blue warpaint, lime to stiffen his hair, klaive at his belt. "If you're offering, sure, I'll do it," he says quietly. "If you'd rather, though, I don't have a real problem letting you tell people where to go." He pauses for a moment, as if reconsidering the phrasing of that last sentence. "Or, well, you know what I mean." At the center, Anna moves towards Alexander, saying quietly "Seriously though, what's up? Whose standing where in this little shindig?" Megan crouches down in front of Brightspot, then reaches out a hand to tossle her ears, smiling gently. "I'm proud of you for doing it," she tells her softly, then, "Stay here and watch the place while we're gone, okay? And, if anything happens to us, I want you to find my mother, Mrs. Kaftan. She works at SCCU. Just tell her who you are, she'll take care of you. Okay?" Before waiting for a response, she's too her feet again, and heads back into the center. You turn to the south and make your way back to the hub of the Wheel. Center of the Great Wheel Contents: Eamon Moon Otter Christian Hershey Thatcher John Elan Jimmy Wilson Robert Patrick Hank Clouded Sky Anna Stormcloud BJ Reggie Esther Steven Joseph Scott Anne Morgan Andrea Alexander Brian Broken Table Stone From the north, Wears-the-Blue appears and lopes without concern into the center. He ends up by Hershey, giving her a hard nosebump as he wags his tail. Andrea repeats her statement for Megan again. Hershey brightens up with a cheerful bark at the arrival of yet another packmate. Bounding to her feet, she bumps against Wears-the-Blue in sheer energetic excitement and snaps playfully at his ears. On the northern curve, Brightspot's ears come forward at the other Fianna's words and she shifts her position, raising her head from her paws as Megan finishes. I will, the cub chuffs softly to her back as she turns, then adds a softer, Be careful. Eamon grins at his packmates. "So what're we doing for this shindig, eh?" Alexander holds his hands out to Brian, giving the elder Ahroun the choice in the matter. "I can tell you what we've got so far. "Whispers has offered to have their Totem act as early warning. Apparently it can diffuse itself enough to cover the whole clearing, so it should be ablet o warn us of anything's approach. Shea came through and found a wolf spirit willing to lend us its eyes and ears for the night. I don't know if it'll be enough to cover everyone, but I figured we could start with the Cliaths and work up to ourselves. If we have to fight blind, well, that's better than forcing others to do it. Anyone with that, or with the Gift of super senses, I figured we could put in an outer circle, to let those who can't see what the hell's going on know when anything starts to come through. The rest of us will hang a little back. Once things get close enough to fight hand-to-hand, we should be able to see enough to fight by. Let those who can see point us to the enemy." Megan chuckles softly at Andrea, giving Stormcloud a glance, then back to the Gaian. "No, he's not quite the type, is he." She subsides, and answers more seriously, "I'll do it; just tell me what to do, as I don't know this particular Rite, either." The Fianna ragabash backpedals, his own spirits higher than usual for recently with the horseplay. Hey, that tickles! He then gives a more general greeting to those that catch his gaze, especially the noticable gathering of Fianna. Morgan nods her head at both Elan and Esther and then glances around, crossing her arms. Anna nods, not hearing anything wrong with the plan as it currently stands. The Get considers those around her, placing them in battle lines in her head. Hershey manages to catch Davy's muzzle with a quick tongue-slurp and then settles down a bit. Her tail just can't stop wagging, though. Near the Pool, Seshemw says towards the center (and Alexander), ~I can get my staff going brightly, and put it near the middle somewhere out of the way. Face outwards, and you'd be better able to see. Or not so brightly, but at least enough to have a chance for the less experienced.~ Stormcloud gives Meagan a quick look, letting his tail sweep the ground for a moment. Patrick walks over to Brian and Alexander and offers, "I can help somewhat with the scouting, from the air." Near the Pool, Cutter scuffs the ground idly with his boot toe. BJ munches on a Slim-Jim while listening to the planning. Alexander nods at what Seshemw said, and adds, "Scott's offered to have the Fangs light the place up if things get bad. I"d rather not use too much light at first, since that might just attract things that wouldn't have otherwise come. But if things get out of control, we can light the place up." Steven offers Davy a quick nod and smile before he turns back to his packmates. Jimmy Wilson finishes the last of his gum drops, then puts the crinkly bag back in a pocket. Andrea gives another wry look to Joseph and Morgan as she says, "Well, its another modification." She looks around at the gathering and raises a hand to rub her temples. "Brigit bless." Her voice raises, "Those that help with the rite, let's go to the east until we sort the last bit out, and leave the defenders to know who they have to call on. It shouldn't take long, and then we can all go to the Umbra." She calls out for those that have doubt. "Jimmy Wilson. Joseph. ~Stormcloud.~ Anne. Robert. ~Clouded Sky.~ Those that summon the Wylding. The other theurges. Come." Brian nods slowly as Alexander describes his plan. "Sounds good, most of it," he says. "We shouldn't need Whispers' totem's services, though -- me and my pack will know when the enemy comes, and from where. The spirit can probably do more good spending its strength in other ways." He nods again at Alexander's last statement, and flashes a small and slightly sheepish smile. "I'd rather not end up blind, either, if it's all the same." Andrea doesn't name Megan, as she was just speaking to Megan. She turns to the east, to lead the way. BJ perks up and follows the mob of Theurges. Near the Pool, Cutter supposes he's the other theurge and lopes to the east. **** Mass exodus to follow after Andrea, movements deleted Anna nods to Alexander. "Even if it means we're fighting in the dark, we're not as easy a target." Clouded Sky's tail curls tightly over her back as she stands to follow Andrea. Near the Pool, Sepdet slips back through leaning on Alexandra, before the mob overtakes the pool. Near the Pool, Sepdet's eyes stop on her reflection in the pool. On the southern curve, Davy comes in from the woodland to the south. Near the Pool, Sepdet gazes into the pool, and suddenly she vanishes. Thatcher rises, gives herself another shaking, and heads east. You make your way along the pathway to the east, between two Wheel quarters. Eastern Curve of the Wheel At the center, Alexander nods again to Brian. "Yessir. Um," he says, "I mean, Brian-rhya. Any pack totems that want to can help defend, too. I know Razor's just itching to get involved." You make your way east, away from the rim of the Wheel. Off the East Side of the Wheel Contents: Thatcher Joseph Clouded Sky Stormcloud Cutter Jimmy Wilson Anne John Esther Morgan BJ Elan Andrea Robert emerges from the rim of the Wheel, and makes his way out toward you. Jimmy Wilson says quietly to Megan, "By the way, I'll be swinging by some time soon for that replacement Twinkee." Hank emerges from the rim of the Wheel, and makes his way out toward you. Andrea turns first to Cutter. "Your packmates waiting in the Umbra still?" Cutter nods. "They're speaking with Grimalkin now, ma'am." he says, quiet but firm. Sepdet emerges from the rim of the Wheel, and makes her way out toward you. Moondancer emerges from the rim of the Wheel, and makes her way out toward you. Elan sits down and shuckshis boots, then his tank top. He stands, and counts a couple of tied leather charms affixed to his belt, then returns his attention to Morgan and Esther. He rejoins the quiet conversation. Sepdet gives in and shifts back down, briefly, to lupus, during all this moving about, so that Moondancer can just carry her. She'll revert when we get back to the umbra. Andrea nods, seemingly content with that. She turns to the others and shifts to glabro to continue. ~Like I said, the calling on Fog will happen first. After that, if we are that far successful, I will begin the part of the opening that happens before the Wylding is called.~ She motions to Megan. ~As I speak of the dying of the caern, you will walk the caern widdershins, from the southeast to the northeast. This will lead you from the season of spring to the season of winter, counter to the elements, as our caern used to go.~ She motions to Anne. ~You will be at the placement of spring, or air, to the southeast.~ Robert. ~You at the placement of high summer, or fire, to the southwest.~ Stormcloud. ~You will be at the placement of fall, or earth, to the northwest.~ Jimmy Wilson. ~And you at the placement of winter, or air, to the northeast.~ Quiet takes a breath, which allows for immediate queries before she continues if she's already confused. Andrea contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Andrea shifts into Glabro form. Megan nods shallowly, arms crossed over her chest as she listens. Esther stands with her thumb hooked into her belt, listening carefully so as to make no mistakes when the time comes for the Rites. Jimmy Wilson draws circles in the air, his tongue half out of his mouth. "Blue fifty-two. Zone defense. Gotcha." Andrea nods, seemingly content with that. She turns to the others and shifts to glabro to continue. ~Like I said, the calling on Fog will happen first. John clasps his hands behind his back, listening intently to the elder Gaian. Anne interrupts, "Now you've got me confused, Andrea. I thought fire was summer, and that was northeast?" Jimmy Wilson scratches his head, just going along with the gameplan, not wanting to question anything. He pats himself down, looking for some more munchies and finding none. His stomach growls, not amused. As each Garou thinks on the Wheel, they will realize that the only thing in the same places are the pool and the fire pit. The windy spot was formerly in the southwest, where Andrea has placed the fire, as Anne says, and the fire pit in the northeast where she has placed the ragabash for the element of air. As each Garou thinks on the Wheel, they will realize that the only thing in the same places are the pool and the earth mound. The windy spot was formerly in the southwest, where Andrea has placed the fire, as Anne says, and the fire pit in the northeast where she has placed the ragabash for the element of air. BJ chuckles and slips Jimmy a bag of eeta-gramulfabits In summary, Quiet has told Megan to walk the Wheel counter-clockwise, starting at the earth mound and going around to the northeast where the firepit used to be. But apparently she's reversing the fire pit and the windy spot. Jimmy Wilson takes the peanut buttery M&M type treats quietly, tossing a handful into his mouth. Esther rubs the back of her head, frowning thoughtfully. Clouded Sky quirks an ear, head tilted slightly to the right. Elan glances to his packamtes and smiles, then looks out over the Wheel, looking at the layout and the path Megan will traverse. Andrea turns to Anne and nods. ~That is the way the caern was. It was reversed.~ She glances at Joseph. "Heyoka." She looks back. ~The fire and the winds are dead. The new will reverse them, and the Wheel will go in the natural way of things again.~ Joseph 's lips curl in a smile, and for perhaps the first time tonight the Wendigo looks at least a little at ease. He nods to Andrea. "Heyoka." Stormcloud remains silent, all attention on Quiet only. Anne purses her lips, then nods. "I understand," she says, after a moment. "Heyoke." Her pronunciation is different, but the root of the word she uses, at least, is the same. Sepdet nods slightly to herself as well, looking unsurprised. Esther nods, smiling, her eyebrows still lowered in thought. Clouded Sky turns her muzzle to Joseph, licking her nose as she considers his word and posture in speaking it. Elan nods to Andrea and Joseph. "It sure seemed to like it that way, when I walked it, a few weeks ago." He looks back over to Esther and Morgan. Jimmy Wilson whispers to BJ, "Goin' round left-wise, like NASCAR, right?" BJ nods to Jimmy and whispers, "Sure sounds like it ta me, boss." Hank grins, listening to Jimmy and BJ. Esther lifts a shoulder in a half shrug. "I'll keep an eye on things, 'till it's time for the Summoning, if you like. See what I pick up in the way of a response? As I did when I tried the same thing as Elan?" Megan whispers to Shea, "I wish I had a staff of alder for this," the smiles slightly and wryly. Andrea gets past the abstracts of directions and moves on. ~The Summoning will begin when Megan walks. As Megan moves through each season, the Garou there should invoke its strength. This starts will Stormcloud, and moves on to Jimmy at the end. Clouded Sky will wait there for Megan, at winter. As the pair meet, the Opening and Summoning will truly begin. Clouded Sky will take on the life, as the young from the old. She will push through the barrier from winter to spring, beginning the life again. Then from spring she will go on to summer.~ Andrea raises her hand, her expression very serious. ~But from summer, do not go on through to fall and winter again. Go to the center, to join the strength of summer to the spirit's heart. Joseph, Sepdet and I will wait for you there. The center is the spirit, and the place of the theurge.~ She glances at Morgan, ~When Clouded Sky comes to the center, call the Wylding's name. Then...it'll be in the hands of Gaia.~ Falcon's Wing steps out of the forest. Sepdet looks faintly startled to be included in that list, but adds in a light, respectful tone, ~There's no better midwife, and no better hands for catching a baby.~ Megan's eyes narrow thoughtfully, then asks Quiet, "Would it hurt for me to help call the Wyldling with my gift, like I mentioned?" Clouded Sky's ears come forward as she listens, and then turn outward to signal her understanding. She licks her nose, smoothing back her whiskers, and shifts her weight in nervous anticipation. Esther lifts an eyebrow at Megan. "If you mean what I think, that's in hand already." Megan looks over at Esther with confusion. "Beg pardon?" she asks, then looks to Quiet for clarification. Andrea glances between the two fostern philodox and nods. She then says, honestly, ~I told Esther your idea, and she can do it. It should lend her strength.~ Megan's mouth twitches a little, but she nods to Quiet's explanation and subsides. Jimmy Wilson seems to understand his part. "I stand at the northeast. Got it." Shadow-of-Blood comes around the wheel from the south. Falcon's Wing comes loping in and skids to a stop, tongue lolling. Should I go help the fighter types? Jimmy Wilson looks around at everyone. "If ya gotta pee, ya should do it now." Apparently the lack of a moon overhead has the Gnawer Ragabash in a strange mood. Hank grins. Umbra: Center of the Caern Contents: Robert Hank Sepdet Moondancer Falcon's Wing Shadow-of-Blood Kyle Maggie Greymalkin Dillan Shades Branwyn **** More mass exodus, arrivals, and shifting Branwyn is perched on one of the outstretched limbs of a Glade Child, simply watching silently. By the pool to the southeast, Wears-the-Woad finishes crossing himself and decorating his face with the familar four broken lines that parallel the scars on his face. The momentary solemn look has fled his face, and now he bounces on the balls of his clawed feet in anticipation. Moondancer stands behind Sepdet, silently acting as her backstop. Karl appears from the pool and moves to join the others in the center. Anne takes up a position at the edge of the pool, on the 'outside', facing inwards. By the pool to the southeast, Moon Otter wades through the pool, soaking his fur in the water before padding into position. Cup-Breaker spots the magpie-spirit, and greets it cheerfully. ~Will you help us with your sharp eyes, Magpie-rhya?~ she asks. Falcon's Wing cocks his head, looking at the Magpie cheerfully, and then pads over nearer his packmate. Ravenfeeder snorts softly, giving Cup-Breaker a sidelong glance, then moves towards the northwest corner skirting around the edges of the clearing. Shakes takes his position as well. Maggie's eyes twinkle. *Spying and watching. Surely.* She hops off the nice box a bit wistfully and flies up into the trees, joining Branwyn to keep watch from the air. Stormcloud lumbers over to the mound's Umbral equivalent, setting himself up on top. Clouded Sky moves to her appointed position and sits back on her haunches to watch and wait. Cup-Breaker goes to join Ragedancer and Elan, to propepare for their part of the preceedings. Tastes-Ashes gives a rough slap to the large buffalo spirit and moves -- along with Sebastien and Serves -- towards the west. Soulcatcher's eyes shift to Sepdet to see that his packmate is well situated before he takes his own place at the center of the gathering. As the Garou shift up, Morgan follows suit, and soon after assuming her crinos form, starts to direct various theurges to their positions, telling them how the Summoning will work and their parts in it. She gives a swift nod and they difuse to take their positions nearer the outside of the Wheel, while she moves nearer to the center, the heart of the caern. Andrea leads the group of rite Garou in through the pool, one by one. She makes sure everyone is in their place as the defenders take up their own patterns. Stormcloud, in the northwest. Robert, in the southwest. Anne, in the southeast. Shakes, in the northeast. Clouded Sky stands near Shakes, but within the circle rather than defining the perimeter. Likewise, Ravenfeeder stands near Stormcloud. Sepdet, Joseph and Andrea stand in the center, and the five members of the Fog pack surround them like yet another circle within a circle. The other people move under Morgan's direction to placements that seem to make no sense at all. Sepdet keeps Moondancer close by her, standing somewhat to the edge of center with an arm around the Galliard's waist to hold herself up. Cutter eyes the bird spirit as he stands next to the cannister. ~Greetings, mother.~ Branwyn spreads her wings slightly, allowing the Umbral breeze to ruffle through her plumage before she settles onto her perch once more. Her attention seems particularly focused on Ravenfeeder and Thatcher. Shades stands between Dillan on one side and Merin on the other, Cutter on Merin's other side, putting the theurges between at least one ahroun. The Glass Walker watches the two Shadow Lords and Quiet for cues. Dillan, being watched for cues, is he himself watching someone with, presumably, a clue. The gangsta Shadow Lord is rivetted to Quiet, waiting for a hint. Shadow-of-Blood takes his place at the spot directed by Morgan, about one-third of the way between the Wyld glyph now dominating the center and the Red Talon glyph on the Wheel's edge. Andrea looks from side to side, her fingers at her belt as she pulls her pennywhistle free. Thatcher, near the center three theurges but outside the circle of Fog packmates, stands near a pile of woven vines. Andrea's voice is firm and raised to carry, but does not boom in a shout. "We gather again in this place, to call on the strength of a new patron and seek to free what is caught. The Wheel turns again, and in turning, we need new vision. We have shared our hearts desire, and we call to the grey wisdom of Fog, and to his protective cloak over our place of power. Fog, we call to you. Your children call to you. Hear us." With this, Andrea raises the whistle to her lips and begins to play. The tone is solemn, all low notes and gentle melody. It is easily overpowered by what others say, but that doesn't seem to trouble the theurge. Indeed, that might be part of the point. As the notes of the whistle begin, Cutter leans over his huge metal canister. Grunting, he twists free the lid and sets it aside. Mist begins to spill out over the edges as he takes a step back and raises his arms. He looks very cool and knife moon for a punk Urrah. "Fog," he calls in the snarly near-man voice, "We call now. To bind ourselves to you. Our secrets, your secrets. Your strengths, our strengths." Thatcher stoops to take the topmost of the vines off of the pile near her feet, and pads toward Cutter. One end of the vine is tied around the bicep of one of his arms, and she returns to the center again, tying the other and to Joseph's arm, a neat knot. She steps back to the pile. As the knot is tied, the grey mist concentrated in a ring around the feet of Untouchables rises over Cutter's body, slithering like a grey snake of more concentrated mist down the vine, until it just touches Joseph's arm where the vine is tied. Branwyn spreads her wings and glides smoothly down from her perch to alight on Thatcher's suddenly-massive shoulder. Soulcatcher closes his fist briefly, watching the tendril as it comes up the vine. Dillan takes a deep breath, standing up and emerging from his hiding within Greymalkin. In the gangsta's usual manner, the respect he pays to the spirits come not in the way most theurges would consider appropriate. "Yo, uh, word up, my main grandaddy of funky-funky-fogg. Uh, the crib's empty and waitin' for the smooth mack-daddy fogg to move on in on the joint. Full 'spects and props to you, my homeboy." He extends a hand to the air, a pair of fingers extended in a crude peace sign, signalling a greeting to the expected spirit. Andrea's playing doesn't falter, but she does close her eyes after Dillan begins speaking. The Fianna theurge, after a brief, pleased look at the raven perched on her shoulder, takes up a second vine, and approaches Dillan. The loop she ties around him circles his wrist, rather than his arm. She backpedals, linking him to Sepdet now, the knot made carefully. As before, when the knot is fastened, and she moves away, a tendril of fog coils itself along the link, stopping as it touches the Strider. Sepdet's eyes crinkle in faint bemusement at Dillan, but she is focussed on the rite, the fog, silently mouthing her own prayer as the circle draws around to her. Merin steps up next, adding her thoughts and energy to the call, ~We seek the wisdom beneath the mist. Come show us how to get lost in you, so we can find our way out of darkness. We call the Fog.~ Outside the edges of the rite, a few alarmed shouts go up among the defenders. Abruptly, they back up, shoulder to shoulder, in a tight ring around the rite participants. Anne casts a look over her shoulder, but only briefly, face tightening before she turns back to the center, to watch the remainder of the Fog-calling. Merin is tied around the waist, and after a brief pause in her steps, Shea links her to Quiet, tying the second end around the Ritemistress's upper arm. A tendril of fog, likewise, curls toward Quiet. The Get of Fenris member of Untouchables seems to hang back from the rest of the pack, a dark presence hovering at the edges of the mist, corraling it, defining a border to the borderless fog. At his turn, he simply looks over at Shea with his normal, edged smile, thrusting out his arm to have the vine tied around it. Tied, and anchored, once more to Joseph, who is touched by a second wisp. The Glass Walker's voice calls out quietly, abnormally solemn for one who is so often edgy and harsh. ~Fog, this Sept seeks your patronage, your wisdom and the arts of subtly. Listen to the call of this pack, your children, and grant your blessing to these others as well.~ Shades is anchored to Quiet, both ends tied around the arm, and Thatcher draws back from both. The fog spirit surges down the last connection, then coalesces more strongly around the five packmembers, connecting them in a circle around their feet, they to the theurges like spokes radiating inwards. In between, it drifts diffusely, shrouding all eight in a soft, grey cylinder of mist. The fog gets a little thicker, and a light mist fills the entire Wheel area. It doesn't quite block vision, but things are a little more blurred and whitened by the mist. Andrea's voice calls out from the thickening fog. "This place was reawakened once before. For these past years, it has been a strong place for our Mother, guarded by a host of Garou with numbers unrivalled by another caern." Stormcloud digs a hole into the Umbral representation of the Earth Mound, then gathers a small pile of dead leaves that lie beside in his one good hand, raising them high. He bellows out in that rumbling voice of his. ~Fall is the season of ripened fruits and the end of fat game. It is a reminder that we all pass on. That we all will return to the Earth. And now, it is the strength of the very Earth that we invoke. Lend us your strength!~ He places the leaves within the hole and covers them. Ravenfeeder watches Stormcloud's actions, then says just barely loud enough for everyone to hear on the other side of the clearing as she walks southwards towards where Robert stands, drawn up to full height and striding with strength and confidence. ~Before there is the strength of Fall, there is the growth of high Summer, when Gaia grants us the that fruitfulness.~ On her final words, she reaches Robert, and stands before the Warder for his part. Outside the Wheel, some reptilian-looking things with bony carapaces on their backs break through up from the ground, surrounding Echen, and the fight begins. Soulcatcher lifts his hands, once again closing them in fists briefly. He watches the tied vines, ~My ancestors once held this land, and lost it. All things have a cycle. Once renewed, this Wheel was filled with life, but as with all things, that life ebbed. Weakened, the Wheel continued in the cycle of things.~ Peacekeeper runs a hand through his hair, calling into the mist, ~We come to Summer, the hot days, the days of strength from the growth, and before harvest. In summer, we reach fullness, and do battle after the sowing and before reaping. Here, is it the action and heat of Fire, without and within, that we invoke. Give unto us your energy!~ Oddly, though, he carries no fire, only invoking without physical representation. Ravenfeeder shifts during Robert's final words, down to glabro, nodding to him. She turns and speaks softly but clearly again, ~Before the bounty of Summer, there is the burgeoning of Spring, when Gaia breathes down warmth so that the land softens, and life begins.~ She finishes her words, and looks up to Anne. Ravenfeeder contorts and blurs as she is transformed. You concentrate to shift into Glabro form. Anne bends to the pool to scoop up water with both hands. Most of it she lets drain on the ground beside her, but some she sprinkles on Megan. "Water is the symbol of spring, spring of rebirth," she says, trained voice carrying easily. "All life from water comes, all rebirth in spring. Gaia, mother, let spring come again." Sepdet raises her head and speaks frankly and bleakly, continuing the widdershins narration of the Wheel's history somberly. ~The Wheel Sundered: With the weakening of years and the teeth of enemies, the Wheel too waned. We called upon the forces of Change. Change answered, consuming Cougar's power, Magpie's long-stored wisdom, and the strength of Buffalo. When Buffalo gave up his life's blood, the stones of the Wheel shook and cracked, its bones fell, and all that had been was wrapped in the cold silence of death.~ Branwyn, on Thatcher's shoulder, mantles, and extends her wings, before she tucks them back behind herself, and settles, albeit less calmly than a moment before. Thatcher's attention is again drawn to the ring of protectors, and most importantly, to the creatures that surround the Alpha. Greymalkin accepts the Galliard's baptism with a nod, then turns as she shifts once more, down to homid, a form which is both more vulnerable and emphasizes the halfmoon's age. A flinch betrays her and she pauses, stopping her gaze from going northwards, and focuses instead on the ground before her as she walks northwards. ~Before the land can be renewed, though, there is the death of cold Winter, when Gaia sleeps under the snows, and life seems gone.~ She steps in front of Shakes, a thin smile flitting across her face before his part begins. Megan accepts the Galliard's baptism with a nod, then turns as she shifts once more, down to homid, a form which is both more vulnerable and emphasizes the halfmoon's age. Shakes speaks, his voice clear in the cool evening air. ~Winter. Things sleep, covered by a pure an' protecting blanket of snow. Animals, plants and... well, other sh... um, stuff. The only stuff that gets to have a good time during the other seasons only does it 'cause it was strong 'nuff ta look the winter cold in the eye and tell it off, or smart 'nuff ta protect itself from it, and cover it's tracks in the snow. Hopefully the Sept will be this strong, and smart, learning the lessons of Winter.~ Megan contorts and blurs as she is transformed. You concentrate to shift into Homid form. Chaos reigns among the defenders, the din threatening to overshadow the relative serenity of the rite. More of the creatures have burst forth from the ground to do battle, and the clearing is now lit up by some Silver Fang's gift. Megan nods to Shakes, then turns and heads for where Clouded Sky waits, hunkering down before the Wendigo, balanced on the balls of her feet while making herself as low to the ground as possible, trying to ignore the clashing noises from the north. "But the cycle is wrong, and Winter is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega, and from it comes Spring, in the proper way." With that, she reaches out to touch Clouded Sky on either side of her head, symbolically, then waits for the young lupus's lead. Ragedancer and the other theurges associated with the Summoning have begun their contributions while the Rite travels around the Wheel. Ragedancer begins to sway slowly at first, and seemingly at random, from side to side, making short and then oddly longer leaps and turns, as she finally howls wildly to spirits, continuing her dance. Shadow Eyes, too, from his position somewhat more distant from the Black Fury, begins a sort of weaving and waving dance, trying to imitate a wavy motion of water. His packmates, Hank and Drives begin a crooning howling, Drives sounding vaguely twangy, while Hank draws his nails across his body in odd patterns, releasing his blood energy, as well as his voice, to the Wyld Summoning. Cup-Breaker brings a bottle up from her belt and shatters it, releasing her water and blood to the ground, while she intones a wildly varying chant, beginning loudly and then slowing her tempo at uneven intervals, softening the volume occasionaly in an undulating fashion. Shadow-of-Blood, for his part, begins to unleash howls, while turning about, calling out wildly to Luna and to the Wyld forces. Combined, they begin to make a wild sounding and oddly pulsing moving cacophony that adds to the ambient sounds of battle that sound over the ritualists. Andrea's voice doesn't exactly cut through the noise, but her words can be heard by those in the rite circle. "And so we call for the pains of birth, to push through the barrier into the protective shroud of our totem. So winter turns to spring." Clouded Sky closes her eyes, breathing deeping as Megan puts her hands to the the Wendigo's head. Opening her eyes once more, and with a lick across Megan's wrist, she begins the long journey from the sleep of winter to the waking of spring. At the sounds of combat, Kyle tenses, peering into the dark, Cutter reaches for a non-existant piece, Dillan chills all frosty, and JJ fidgets, tied to the centre. Anne crouches this time, one knee touching the ground as her head bows, a symbol of respect to the symbol of rebirth. Her left hand only dips into the water, flicking some of it up at Clouded Sky. Clouded Sky takes step after step, the strain beginning to show. She leans forward into each step, now as she passes from spring toward summer. Each time a paw lifts from the ground, trembling with the effort of forward motion. Her eyes narrow to slits and her breath comes in short panting gasps until she can stop before Peacemaker. Peacekeeper smiles down at Clouded Sky and nods; opening his arms in greeting as if to embrace the strengthening caern, and the theurge representing it. The brilliance that had swept over the caern now just as suddenly winks out, and the Umbra Wheel is plunged once more into mist-shrouded darkness. Moondancer twists the staff near one end, and 12 inches of steel slides out with a soft silken snik. Soulcatcher shifts a moment, ~From youth we walk the hoop to maturity, taking life's lessons with us to strengthen us. Like the deer that wobbles unsteadily in its first steps and become the graceful, fleetfooted runner, the turning of the hoop brings us from the spring of life to the summer.~ Sepdet shakes off Moondancer's patient, silent support for a few brief defiant seconds, pouring her heart into her voice. The perceptive may also hear her conscious effort to match the rhythms and tone of another, absent theurge: Eligio, as if she were quoting something her teacher told her long ago. ~And from summer we return to where we began: the center. Strength comes from within, from the heart and the spirit. For the battle is not fought with tooth and claw alone.~ This last sounds like a trumpet against the dark, and strives to recall another voice out of the past: Horus'. And with that, Clouded Sky turns toward the middle of the clearing. Her steps come much easier and her head lifts, tongue lolling, and tail curling over her back while she makes her way to the trio of crescents in the center. Ragedancer continues her whirling, turning, Dionysian dance, calling out to the spirit world in mostly unarticulated howls. The other theurges that lend their energies continue to do so. Shadow Eyes continues his waving, weaving, twisting dance frantically, while Hank and Drives howl and sway slightly, small drops of blood coming from Hank. Cup-Breaker keeps on her chant as she too begins to take up a dancing motion. Shadow-of-Blood continues his howls and his wild dexterous turning, as he bobs and weaves, tearing at one of his paws to release blood to the ground. The pace of the Summoning participants reaches a frenetic level, a frenzy of motion, sound and energy, when Ragedancer, makes a striking turn and leap, pointing her lupine muzzle to the heart of the caern, her howling articulating into a calling voice, ~We summon you, Wyldling spirit to this place. We call forth your energy to this caern.~ And with that, the Fury intones the spirit's name, simulatenously with Cup-Breaker's voice. Megan slips up into crinos at the climax of the Rite, stealing herself for whatever may come. Megan contorts and blurs as she is transformed. You concentrate to shift into Crinos form. Andrea, along with the other two theurges at the center, raise their arms. The motion causes the bound Fog members to let their limbs drift upward too, or lose all slack in the vines connecting the Fog pack to the center theurges. Moondancer stands silently, her spear at ready, behind Sepdet for support. From out of the ground, a bright light is emitted, seeming to come from the Wyld glyph at the center. In mid-air, an ever-shifting shape of many colors emerges, looking much brighter than the last time you saw something like this. The fog parts slightly to allow it more room, and it merely hangs in the air for a moment, then pulses out in a wave of bright light again, washing over the participants. Anne, still kneeling, murmurs a ritual greeting in Greek. Stormcloud closes his eyes for a moment, shielding them, but otherwise does not flinch. Ravenfeeder flinches a little, warily, as the light passes over her, treating the pulse of energy with the healthy respect due a Wylding spirit. Ragedancer holds her hands aloft ecstatically, blinking at the brightness of the pulses, offering a greeting. Cutter blinks at his first sighting of the thing, and starts. "Jesus Mary and Joseph." he mutters. Cup-Breaker howls into the brightness. Thatcher crouches, reflexively, disturbing the bird on her shoulder, as the light pushes past the gathering. Soulcatcher closes eyes against the bright flash, flinching slightly as well. Then, he too lets out a resounding howl. Sepdet leans heavily on Alexandra, trusting in another's legs besides her own, and struggles to keep her eyes open and facing the brilliant colorful shape. She mutters a curt prayer, somewhat predicatably, to Phoenix. Clouded Sky remains silent, awed by the scene, until the night is broken by Cup-Breaker's howl, which she gleefully joins. Dillan squints, eyes narrowed to the point of almost closing as the light blasts through the huddled group of garou. "Shee-it," he mutters, twisting his head a bit to one side. Andrea swallows hard, watching the powerful Wyld spirit with a solemn, unsmiling expression, once she manages to unsquint her eyes. Moondancer leans to support Sepdet, whistling softly with closed eyes. Kyle crouches and bulks up into Crinos form, JJ and Merin tensing on either side of him as the Wylding hovers. Hank's eyes narrow to bare slits as he tries to watch the Wylding. Even as the afterimage lingers, the mist seems to grow a little thicker, then seems to flow towards the center, the formlessness of Wyldling and mist intermingling. Another pulse of light and power goes out, and you realize you are somehow in the Umbra and Realm at the same time. Tendrils of mist go out towards the defenders on the edges of the Wheel, and lunes begin appearing on the perimeter once again. Kyle contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Kyle shifts into Crinos form. Shades shifts not long after Kyle does, slipping into her birthform without volition. Shades contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Shades settles into crinos form. Merin shields her eyes from the bright pulse before following her packmates up into the war form, her grey furred body taking on muscle and mass. An earthquake shakes the area, and the ground starts shifting right underfoot, seeming to sink down as other huge rocks shift upwards, faulting and slipping. The ground near Peacekeeper cracks, into a network of small cracks, but doesn't open, thought the quake and its effects continue. Stormcloud falls to a three-point stance on top of the mound to keep his balance, quickly looking around at the others as he does so. Andrea's shift is instinctual, even though it breaks the vine binding her to Merin. As she shifts through the forms to a four-legged form, staggering, she lets out a single curse. Andrea contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Andrea shifts into Lupus form. Moondancer braces herself with her spear, so she can keep supporting Sepdet even through the shaking. Anne shifts to lupus as well, still crouched; the lurch to keep her balance splashes one paw into the water. Once in lupus, she lets out a howl, gleeful and challenging at once. Anne contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Anne shifts into Lupus form. By the pool to the southeast, Chaser goes home. Ravenfeeder yelps and tries to keep her footing, and fails, falling backwards onto her butt, and there is a crunching noise lost in the roar of shifting earth as her hands go back instinctively, trying to catch herself. Peacekeeper starts to crouch, then falls as the ground cracks beneath him, throwing off his balance. He end up on the ground, face-first, arms still stretched as if embracing the caern. Or as if holding on for dear life. Clouded Sky, glad of four legs, still crouches low with ears twitching in surprise and fear. Hank starts to go down, hands going down to catch him as he falls. Cup-Breaker drops into a fighter's crouch for balance, trying not to take her eyes off the area at the center. Her howl, as a result, becomes rather faint and breathless, and stops as she falls over when the ground luches right under her feet. Shades and Dillan drop to hands and knees, tugging at their cords, as Cutter staggers back away from the centre, snapping his connexion with Soulcatcher. Throws-Stone plants a splayed hand on the ground to stabilise his wary crouch. The Get stares into the chaos of the Wyldling, cautiously watching for any sign that his pack's totem is endangered. Drives gives up trying to stand on two legs and takes a more stable form. Drives contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Drives shifts into Lupus form. Ragedancer's eyes widen in surprise and she starts to back away from the center of the caern toward the periphery scrambling on all fours, still in crinos. Soulcatcher is thrown offballance, and as he struggles to remain standing he lets out a surprised growl. The effort s unsuccessfull, and the Wendigo is brought down to all fours. Sepdet's legs completely buckle (they weren't doing her any good anyway), and she sags to the ground, saved from a nasty tumble by the Galliard bracing her. She braces her hands against the ground, trying to keep her head up and watch the swirling mists and colors with respect and desperation. Her lips are peeled back in a silent ~Please~, a bizarre crinos version of a pup's begging expression to mother. Thatcher pitches forward, arms pinwheeling, as she drops. She doesn't catch herself, but twists, to land on her shoulder before hitting the ground. Once down, she shifts back to lupus as well. Branwyn launches herself skyward. Thatcher contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Thatcher trembles briefly, and then her image wavers, muscles, bones, and flesh twisting, and reforming as she slips into Lupus form. As the shaking continues, a white stone of some sort sticks up out of the center of the caern, from the Wyld glyph, jutting from the ground like a horribly-broken bone. The steam begins rising from the cracks around Peacekeeper, and he is quickly lost in the rolling mists. A thicker fog fills the area, shifting with the ground, and you quickly lose sight of even each other, much less anything outside the caern. Stormcloud raises his muzzle towards the sky, bellowing out a powerful howl, letting others know that at least he is still here, and hopes he is no longer alone. Shadow-of-Blood echoes his tribemate's howl, though his reply is a little more unsteady in all the faulting and moving. Moondancer throws back her head and howls encouragement. ~Wyld Fog!~ Branwyn has disconnected. Through the mist comes a muffled curse as Cup-Breaker rights herself, then she rejoins the howl. Ravenfeeder's defiant, angry howl rises as well, probably barely heard over the sound of grinding rock. Finally, the shaking stops, and the fog clears somewhat. As everyone takes a few breaths and looks around, you are struck by two facts: you are in the Realm, rather than the Umbra; and your surroundings are ... quite different. Branwyn has taken to the air amid the shaking of the earth, and her irritable squawk echoes along with all the other noise. Center of the Caern's desc: This area of the clearing is about 30 meters and is a mixture of dark soil and clay throughout, kicked up from the recent upheaval that struck the area. Near the center of the clearing, the top of a large white boulder juts out from the soil like a bone revealed after the skin of an animal has been torn away. The large rock appears to be normal stone at its base, but towards the top stone gives way to a sparkling collection of quartz crystal. Surrounding the base of the stone, on all sides, are shattered pieces of what looks to have once been a stone table. Large chunks of grassy sod, tree limbs, and up-rooted brush are strewn around the clearing, silent reminders of how this area once looked. Around you, twenty yards in every direction, stretches the caern. To the southeast, a waterfall plummets over the edge of the chasm into a small pool in the caern; nearby, to the southwest, steam comes from cracks in the ground, perhaps some of the same water. Northwest, a rocky spar justs out of the ground at a low angle, showing a sloping but smooth top. The chasm walls narrow a bit to the northeast, causing some of the mist to swirl in that area. Ragedancer regains her footing slowly and stares in shock, her gaze darting wildly around her, as she turns her lupine head quickly to survey what has been wrought by the ritual. Hank blinks, staring about in wonder. "Hot-diggity-goddamn-dogg." Dillan is, quite visibly, stunned silly. "S'this mean what I think?" he manages to ask. From the rock outcropping, Stormcloud comes towards the slab from the caern center. Cup-Breaker spends several long moments just staring blankly, before gathering her scattered wits enough to start looking about her. Then, she lets out a long, low whistle. Shades coughs as the clouds of dust settle, and quickly looks from side to side, doing a quick visual count of her packmembers. Cutter smiles beatifically. "It does indeed, Grasshopper." Nimue turns around to look behind her, after only a short look around, and sways back a step or two, a bark of sheer surprise emerging as she looks at what is no longer trees, but the edge of a small cliff. Thatcher's ears are flattened, against her skull. One ears lifts, warily curious, when Branwyn alights on her back. In the Swirling Wind The rugged walls of the canyon grow narrower to the northeast, forcing the gusts of winds that it catches to rush down into this small clearing. Here the breezes meet with the drifting mists off the waterfall's spray, becoming swirling bits of haze that dance and whirl like merry ghosts. Occasionally, the canyon's rim pushes swifter air into the caern, breaking up the dance and sending the mists, scattered, back to their source. Swirling in the area is some of the mist sprayed up by the waterfall to the south. To the west, a rock slab juts out of the ground at an angle. the caern's center is to the southwest; the rest of the valley extends northeast, toward the mountains. At the center, Chaser snarls in surprise at the sudden shift in the Gauntlet--and then her tension eases as she recognizes the Garou. By the steam vents, Peacekeeper comes into the steam from the caern center. At the center, Quiet doesn't move at first, staring around with an unflinching, open-eyed gaze that looks unnatural through its stillness. Only her sides move with heaving breath. At the center, Sepdet doesn't even attempt to get up, by this time having sunk flat against the earth, legs curled up awkwardly and muzzle pillowed on her arms. She doesn't move or even seem to be breathing, as if waiting...not daring to blink lest the image shatter. By the waterfall, Nimue continues to stare over the side of the cliff, ears half-flattened. At the center, Drives slowly walks around the circle, sniffing curiously, his ears perked and twitching at all the new sensations. At the center, Cutter folds his arms across his chest and looks around, taking in his surroundings. At the center, Cup-Breaker looks about again, wondering about the defenders that alowed the Rite to lead to all this. At the center, Throws-Stone rises from his crouch, slowly taking in the change in surroundings. Kyle's ferocious demeanor does not soften, and he remains tense, protective of his packmates. At the center, Some fog remains although much less than before, and centralized around the members of Untouchables and diffusely over the three theurges still in the center of that circle. At the center, Moondancer sinks to her knees and whispers in awe, ~Alive....it's....~ By the steam vents, Peacekeeper climbs to his feet and looks around the ... caern? He whistles lowly, then looks up, into curtain of diffuse mist. He steps towards the center, dripping wet from the steam. By the steam vents, Peacekeeper heads into the center. At the center, Chaser pads slowly toward Quiet. At the center, Hank is starting to grin as he stares around the vastly-changed area. At the center, Shades settles into glabro form. At the center, Sepdet finally breaks her stunned trance to peer to the southwest as the Warder emerges out of the swirls of steam. At the center, Quiet continues to stand at the middle, watching the others without blinking. At the center, Soulcatcher's eyes go up, along the wall of the cliff, and then dart quickly around the strange land. Ravenfeeder picks herself up from the lower canyon which she finally finds herself in, waiting for her wrists to heal before she walks up towards the center skittishly. You head into the center and heart of the caern. Right, Cutter?" his voice is filled with a subdued wonderment, eyes darting across the new surroundings. By the waterfall, Nimue narrows her eyes at Cup-Breaker, then turns to stare at the pool by which she stands. From the rock outcropping, Stormcloud settles back upon his haunches, still in crinos, tail wagging. By the waterfall, Nimue gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly she vanishes. Reaching Quiet, Chaser touches her muzzle to the Theurge's. Quiet licks the Get's muzzle. Sepdet lifts her head and gives a soft call. Cutter heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Cutter approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Nimue appears in a glimmer of violet light. Moondancer looks to Sepdet and offers a hand. Sepdet tilts her head to listen searchingly. Ravenfeeder tilts her head, then chuffs. ~They seem okay,~ she says, someone finally answering Cup-Breaker's question with words. Chaser trades affection with Quiet for a time, silently. By the waterfall, Heart-of-Fury comes down the trail from the rim above. By the waterfall, Nimue emerges, half-drenched, from the pool. They are not _over_ there. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing comes down the trail from the rim above. By the waterfall, Heart-of-Fury heads into the center. Sepdet nods after an anxious moment. ~They're not far away.~ S Heart-of-Fury winds down the trail, past the waterfall, and heads instinctively towards his packmates, blinking at Branwyn's appearance. Shades looks around her packmates, then to Quiet and Robert. ~Did it work?~ By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing whurfs at Anne, mostly out of a need to be reassured, and then looks at the Center, somewhat awestruck. Peacekeeper nods slowly, still looking around at the new expanse of caern. ~It worked,~ he says, amazed. ~It really worked.~ Ravenfeeder barks with relief at Heart-of-Fury's arrival, looking over him quickly to assess the damage. Cup-Breaker nods, then grins, toothily. ~~Got to learn the place all over again. I shall go and see if the wards are back in place, unless-~ she looks at Anne, then Quiet- ~There is something else I should do?~ By the waterfall, Nimue barks again at Falcon's Wing. Is this not wonderful? The Galliard is obviously delighted, and excited, both. From the rock outcropping, Stormcloud searches through the crowd from where he sits, looking for his tribemates. Heart-of-Fury bumps his nose against Ravenfeeder. ~Echen is above, and unharmed, I think. What the hell happened to us? One second we're fighting these insectoid banes and then we're in the Realm and the Umbra at the same time?! And why's Branwyn here?~ **** Mass entrance by those outside the center Sepdet shifts down then, still crumpled on the ground at the center. Ragedancer stays near the periphery of the caern and peers about, shaking her head wonderously. Sepdet contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Sepdet shifts into Lupus form. Ravenfeeder crouches down next to Heart-of-Fury, ruffling his ears roughly but with affection. ~I do not know, it happened after the Wylding was called. We were all dumped to here. By the waterfall, Echen's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. By the waterfall, Cutter watches Echen go by, making certain he's out of the way. Clouded Sky looks up as Moon Otter appears. At last she shakes the cobwebs of uncertainty from her head and barks a greeting to him. Branwyn gives voice to a raucous cry at sight of Heart-of-Fury, and Echen, spreading her wings, and flapping them a few times, though she remains on Thatcher's back, before she settles down again, and is carried toward the other Fianna. By the waterfall, Echen gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly he vanishes. By the waterfall, Maggie comes down the trail from the rim above. Cup-Breaker heads off away from the center in the wolf-form, giving the magpie-spirit a happy bark of greeting. She vanishes into the distance. Maggie wings in low enough to demand in loud tones of Cup-Breaker what, exactly, she has done, and particularly _why_ the spirit is stuck in the Realm. Not that it isn't pretty. By the waterfall, Spirit-of-Words mutters,~Fuck me,~ as he looks over the valley somewhat dazedly. The movement of the rest of the war party snaps him out of it and he follows them shadow side. By the waterfall, Nimue gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly she vanishes. By the waterfall, Cutter heads into the center. By the waterfall, Spirit-of-Words heads into the center. By the steam vents, With a loud sigh, the earth seems to settle momentarily and the steam clouds dissipate somewhat. By the waterfall, Spirit-of-Words gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly he vanishes. From the rock outcropping, Stormcloud finally stands, hunkers a bit as the earth sighs, then makes his way towards the center. From the rock outcropping, Stormcloud heads into the center. Hawkmoon, shifting down to homid, nods to Throws-Stone, a fey, exuberant look in her eyes. She flashes a grin at her Get of Fenris packmate, and says, "I know how to whistle," she says coyly, then winks and goes back to looking around the Caern, highly pleased. Clouded Sky chuffs to the large Talon as he approaches. Four legs are better than two, particularly when the earth moves. Chaser noses at Quiet's neck, and then turns away. She takes up a place near the stone, watchful. Hank contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Hank shifts into Homid form. Stormcloud resettles down upon his haunches near Clouded Sky, not making any reply to her four-leg comment. ~This place...~ Joseph crouches, first by Sepdet, to see if his packmate is alright. Then, he turns to Quiet, touching the Gaian's shoulder lightly. Heart-of-Fury contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Hope-Star blinks and looks around, giving a startled bark of laughter. ~Oh, dear. Joseph, Kshema's flying around the top of the cliff. In the _realm_. I can't see across.~ Heart-of-Fury shifts into Homid form. Throws-Stone heads northwest, towards the rocky slab. From the rock outcropping, Throws-Stone comes towards the slab from the caern center. Clouded Sky huffs. Impressive. Alive. Strong. It feels ... well nourished? From the rock outcropping, Throws-Stone heads along the rough trail up along the wall. Cutter strolls over toward Sepdet, crouching down by the Strider. "Sepdet?" he says quietly, as he shifts down. Shadow-of-Blood howls gleefully into the night air once again. It's back! It's back! Cutter contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Cutter shifts into Homid form. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws appears in a glimmer of blue light. Hope-Star is still shivering in a heap at the foot of the boulder, but twists her head towards the speaker, a bit dazed. Hm? Hank is just grinning from ear to ear, watching the others and taking in the new appearance of the Caern. Steven howls as he shifts into his breed form. ~Bless Gaia, it worked, Megan.~ He grins widely and doesn't even seem to notice the wounds he has too much. Stormcloud flicks an ear at Sky, but raises his muzzle to join Shadow-of-Blood in victorious howl. Cutter smiles a little. "This looks like a nice place. From what I've seen and heard, you helped pick it out. Thanks." He looks up now, searching for Moondancer. Megan impulsively throws her arms around Steven and hugs him hard, grinning as widely as he does, then wraps an arm around Shea, mindful of the raven spirit perched on her shoulder. She leans in towards the theurge and whispers, "Better, now?" By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing appears in a glimmer of yellow light. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing heads into the center. Moondancer joins in Shadow-of-Blood's howl, carrying it as long and far as her lungs will hold. Clouded Sky shakes off the rest of her reverie and begins looking around her. By the waterfall, Patrick's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. Maggie's ears splay in confusion as she looks around. Gods, no. Gaia did. Gaia, the Wyld, the Three Totems that were, and the One who is. We just opened the way. By the waterfall, Patrick gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly he vanishes. Falcon's Wing belts out a howl himself, finally giving into his glee, and then says, grinning at Steven, ~Hot /DAMN/!~ Clouded Sky heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Clouded Sky approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. Maggie er, Sepdet's ears. Maggie will fly outta here and try to find her way back to the umbra. Very confused spirit. By the waterfall, Clouded Sky's eyes stop on her reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. By the waterfall, Clouded Sky gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly she vanishes. Steven's face twists a bit as Megan hugs him, pressing against his still tender wounds. But he returns the gesture in kind, before he laughs at Derrick, with a full belly laugh. Cutter smiles still. "I was being euphemistic." Joseph heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Joseph approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. Dillan nudges Cutter. "Bitchin'. We did it. We. Did. It." He holds a hand out to his pack, and tribe, mate. "Who da man? Cutter da man." By the waterfall, Isaac appears in a glimmer of indigo light. Cutter snorts, takes the hand and stands. "You might have noticed, I had a cosmic buttload of assistance." Hope-Star finally gives in to the revelry and euphoria of the others. Her tail twitches once, and she gives a short, sharp coyote-yip of praise for the new home. Falcon's Wing wonders just how much is involved in a buttload. By the waterfall, Isaac looks up at Joseph with his massive jaws gaping open in a grin. Is better now. Thatcher, jostled by being hugged, blinks a few times at Megan. "Ehm. Sure." Dillan ponders this, helping Cutter up. "Dillan, importer of cosmic buttloads? Nah, too long. You still da man, though." By the waterfall, Joseph, eyes dancing, finally lets out his own exuberant laugh, nodding to Isaac, "Is better now." Cutter chuckles and winks. "Fuckin' pack Dee, boy. You'll be a knife moon yet." Shades chuckles, and goes up to Cutter, clapping him on the shoulder. "You still led it, Cutter. Good job." Merin, eyes still dancing, comes up and adds, "Yes, good job. Both of you," she says, including Dillan. Stormcloud rises, walking over towards his tribemate, tail wagging lightly behind him. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws heads back around the Wheel to the north. In the windiest area, Thunder's Claws comes up from the south. Those near enough the center of the caern can almost actually /feel/ Dillan's ego getting bigger. In the windiest area, Thunder's Claws takes several steps toward the windy spot, then stops. He takes another two or three before stopping again. ~What the fuck?~ Hank looks over towards TC, still grinning. "What is it?" Chaser glances over her shoulder, toward Thunder's Claws. Peacekeeper looks over towards Thunder's Claws, curious expression on his face. In the windiest area, Thunder's Claws starts to walk west, toward the mound, then stops again. With a determined look, he turns and walks backward, in the direction of the waterfall. In the windiest area, Thunder's Claws heads towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws comes along the Wheel from the north. Cutter puts up a hand in a 'just a sec' indication. He strolls up behind MoonDancer and casually flips his fingers across her ears. By the waterfall, ~The Wheel,~ announces the Shadow Lord. ~It's backward.~ Hope-Star gives a wry snort. Soulcatcher, better explain. Falcon's Wing wurfs. ~Well, not according to the Wendigo.~ By the waterfall, Joseph laughs again, "Wrong, Heyoka. It's forward!" Dillan scans the caern at TC's announcement, searching for Joseph. "Yo, Pepsi... didn't you say the caern was always backwards? 'cause of the Shadow Lords, or something?" HE stops to think this out a bit. "And does this mean I gotta start using the other door?" By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws gives Joseph an irritated look. ~It's backward from what it used to be.~ Falcon's Wing says, ~There didn't used to be a waterfall, either...~ Moondancer jumps and bats at Cutter playfully. ~Silly Cutter! Tricks are for kids!~ Shades barks a laugh at Dillan's second question, then digs into the pocket of her coat for a cigarette and her lighter, sending up bluish tobacco smoke to mingle in with the whiter mist of the fog still surrounding her and the other two members of her pack in the vicinity. Megan chuckles, and grins wryly. "Well said, Derrick." Cutter chuckles. "Hey you. No more nightmares, right? I'm sorry I missed all that." He shrugs. "Got caught up in shit." Dillan must take offense to Alexander arguing the subject with Joseph. "Gee, chill out. S'cool. It used to be the wrong way around. Now it's right again." Moondancer twists the spear near one end, and the blade retracts within the shaft. Moondancer contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Moondancer shifts into Homid form. By the waterfall, Joseph either doesn't see, or doesn't choose to respond to the Shadow Lord's irritation. He continues with his excited exploration. Alexandra grins. "All gone. Man, I've missed you. And look what we got now!" Hope-Star whines faintly. By the waterfall, Isaac heads west, fading somewhat into the steam. By the steam vents, Isaac comes through the steam from then east. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws ignores Dillan's remark. Turning to Peacekeeper, he asks, ~Since it seems to have worked, am I free to return to my territory?~ By the steam vents, Isaac heads out of the caern toward the southwest. Peacekeeper nods to Thunder's Claws. ~You are free to return. Thank you for aiding the caern in its time of need,~ he finishes solemnly. By the steam vents, Isaac comes into the caern from the southwest. By the waterfall, Joseph heads into the center. Cutter smiles and nods. "Yeah, it's all like Last of the Mohicans and shit. No paths and circles, all trees and primal and... um. Wild." Falcon's Wing heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. Dillan heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Dillan approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Dillan's eyes stop on his reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. Alexandra kneels beside Sepdet and nods, grinning. "Yeah. Ain't it great?" By the waterfall, Dillan gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly he vanishes. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws bows his head to the Warder and turns to head back out of the valley. By the waterfall, Thunder's Claws heads west, fading somewhat into the steam. By the steam vents, Thunder's Claws comes through the steam from then east. Hope-star wants to know what the alpha's party investigates, and whether there are wounded. But yes. It is Sacred. It is to be praised. By the steam vents, Thunder's Claws heads out of the caern toward the southwest. Stormcloud sits back once again, one taloned hand clenching and unclenching. From the rock outcropping, Isaac heads along the rough trail up along the wall. Hope-Star is too excited, for once, to humiliated at letting the sept see her being ported around by someone else, and clambers clumsily into Joseph's arms so she can go with him as he explores. Drives sits and yips happily. By the waterfall, Brian appears in a glimmer of blue light. By the waterfall, Spirit-of-Words appears in a glimmer of yellow light. Megan stands with Shea and Steven, then turns to Peacekeeper and asks, "If you'd like, I think we can stay here tonight and help keep an eye out on things instead." Steven nods his agreement to that statement. "I concur, sir," he says, solemnly, but with a smile. By the waterfall, Spirit-of-Words slides down from the warform as he re-enters the realm, moving towards the center at a good clip, bright expression covering his face. By the waterfall, Scott contorts and blurs as he is transformed. By the waterfall, Scott heads into the center. Scott blurs and shifts into Homid form. From the rock outcropping, Isaac makes his way down the trail from the northern wall of the valley. By the waterfall, Brian emerges from the Umbra somewhat numbly, and leans into the falls for a few moments to let the water begin to clean the lime, paint, blood, and dirt from his body. Peacekeeper smiles as he shifts down and nods at Megan. "If you wish." Peacekeeper contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Peacekeeper shifts into Homid form. Stormcloud looks up and over at the ALpha worriedly. Hope-Star barks softly towards the alpha. Rhya? Are there wounded who need healing? We might have a bit left to help. Cutter moves over toward Scott and clears his throat. By the waterfall, Drenched, Brian answers, "Steven got hurt the worst that I saw." His tone is rather vacant, as if he's not quite there. Steven shrugs and shakes his head. "I'm fine. This is certainly worth a little flesh and blood." He does shift into Glabro though. From the rock outcropping, Isaac advances around the Wheel towards the windy area. In the windiest area, Isaac comes around the Wheel from the west. Steven contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Steven shifts into Glabro form. Megan shrugs her right shoulder, smile subsiding a bit but lingering. "Someone has to, and I'm sure Shea," she says, with a grin to the theurge who returns the smile with a sour one of her own, "will want to stick around anyway. Better a pack on this first night, when we have no idea what'll happen, is what I figured." In the windiest area, Isaac heads out of the caern and up the valley. In the windiest area, Isaac comes down the valley from the northeast. In the windiest area, Isaac heads towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Isaac comes along the Wheel from the north. By the waterfall, Isaac starts along the trail up to the rim of the valley. Hope-Star's ears splay. Again, she growls, and tugs imperiously on Joseph to port her over to Steven. I couldn't heal you the other night, she remarks to him with an apologetic dip of the eyes. Now? By the waterfall, Nimue appears in a glimmer of red light. Scott makes a bee line for Joseph, and wraps the Wendigo in a bear hug, lifting him half off the ground before setting him down and moving to do the same to Megan, half turning as he does so. The rampant grin on his face can't hide his feelings right now either. He says, firmly,"/It/ worked," before noticing Cutter finally and glancing over to him. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing appears in a glimmer of indigo light. Cutter makes a sort of a smile as Scott looks to him. He raises a hand and waggles his fingers. Steven waves the Strider off. ~I'll be fine in a few days. Thank you for the offer, though. Besides, when I retell the story, I'll need some good visual effects.~ Joseph gives a little grunt as the Fang knocks the air out of him. Recovering, he laughs it off and claps him on the back. Drives contorts and blurs as he is transformed. From the rock outcropping, Isaac makes his way down the trail from the northern wall of the valley. Drives shifts into Homid form. Hope-Star dips her eyes. Donno what I could do about that, except ask Wind to make your hair stand up. But will do my best. From the rock outcropping, Isaac heads along the rough trail up along the wall. By the waterfall, After raking a hand back through his hair to drag the drenched tangles out of his face, Brian draws a breath and turns back towards the center. From the rock outcropping, Isaac makes his way down the trail from the northern wall of the valley. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing heads into the center. By the waterfall, Nimue comes out of the pool, ears up and pointed forward, tail wagging, and somewhat drenched; perhaps, as she wades happily into the pool and splashes around, she is a little odder, far more happy, than most have ever seen her. She shakes herself out again, scattering water all around the pool as she peers out to see who's still here. From the rock outcropping, Isaac heads into the center. By the waterfall, Nimue heads into the center. By the waterfall, Brian heads into the center. Steven rumbles a laugh. ~That may well be enough, Sepdet.~ Isaac heads northwest, towards the rocky slab. From the rock outcropping, Isaac comes towards the slab from the caern center. BJ heads northwest, towards the rocky slab. Megan acks as she's suddenly engulfed into the embrace of a crazed Silver Fang, but his good mood is infectious and she begins to grin widely again, cuffing him on the shoulder much in the same vein as Joseph does. "It did," she agrees, but some of the good mood fades as she looks over at Brian with faint concern, waiting for him to arrive before widening her smile. "Don't feel that way, Brian," she says softly. "The important thing is that the Caern *is* back." Nimue trails Falcon's Wing into the center proper, barking a cheerful greeting. Falcon's Wing skids to a halt in front of Joseph, avoiding people in his way, and looks up at him, tongue lolling. Alexandra contorts and blurs as she is transformed. Alexandra shifts into Lupus form. Nimue picks her way, a little more delicately as she has to go through the debris left by the earthquake, over to Robert. Is this not wonderful? In the windiest area, Isaac heads towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Isaac comes along the Wheel from the north. By the waterfall, Isaac heads into the center. Robert grins widely back at Nimue and replies exhuberantly, "Oh, yes. Yes, oh, yes. This is beyond wonderful. C'est magnifique!" Scott continues to grin madly, and says,"I'm going to take alook around at the rest of the place, and up above the rim. Don't wait up for me, kids." With that he slides down into the wolf and starts towards the rim of the ravine. Spirit-of-Words contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Moondancer pads over to Joseph and barks up at Sepdet. I will be back tomorrow, Rhya. Spirit-of-Words blurs and shifts into Lupus form. Nimue shakes herself again, a few drops of water scattering some more. We need a Moot. Cutter watches Scott zoom past, and shrugs. "Fuckit" he murmurs to himself. Isaac heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Isaac approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Isaac starts along the trail up to the rim of the valley. Spirit-of-Words turns back to the Lord theurge, his expression questioning before he begins his ascent. ~We /need/ a Moot,~ Steven repeats, smiling at Nimue. Moondancer perks. Moot? "Perhaps you're right," Brian answers Megan quietly, finally letting his gaze fall from the walls of the newborn valley. "But it's not my doing. It's not to my credit. I stood against it right up to almost the end, first believing only what my eyes told me, then arguing against trying to do what we did tonight because it seemed like too big a risk with no guarantees." A pause, and then, "That is my shame. That is what I have to live with. I apologize for not being able to take as much pleasure in this as I probably should." Hope-Star nuzzles Moondancer. You have a story to tell sometime. Thank you for holding me, cub. Moondancer perks her ears. You are my teacher. And my friend. How could I do less? Cutter blinks. "Uh. Hey." he tells the four-leg. "In the spirit of healing and all that other stuff we've gone through tonight. Um. I wanted to apologise for jumping in your shit last time we talked." Moondancer nuzzles Hope-Star and pads off, bumping Cutter playfully as she passes him. Moondancer goes northwest, into the swirling wind. In the windiest area, Moondancer comes into this quarter from the caern center. In the windiest area, Moondancer heads out of the caern and up the valley. Cutter starts, and spares a grin to Moondancer as she passes. Megan's eyes narrow thoughtfully, as she gives her Righ a slight smile. "No, the shame should come from putting your own feelings of failure ahead of the good fortune of the people you are supposed to be leading. Be happy, Brian, and let the failure be a lesson for the future, just as the Sept you lead has one again." Stormcloud grunts, another lupine grin crossing his crinos features even as he settles back down not too far from the Alpha. There is a question in his eyes, however. Falcon's Wing thinks we need a group howl. And a Moot, I guess. If we have to. Steven grins, rakishly. ~I think Brian just needs a good fuck. That usually does wonders for the attitude.~ Spirit-of-Words considers the Shadow Lord for a moment, and then lets out a long breath. The talk of what passed between the two sobering his mood significantly. You said some things I could not abide. I assume those were said in anger. I ... would ask you try not to say such things again. There is a small pause, and he adds a touch more subduedly that he is genuinely sorry for harm he's caused Cutter or those close to him. His manner offer a friendly reconciliation, it's subdued and a rather dominant perhaps a touch wary bearing, but it isn't antagonistical either. Cutter dips his head and smiles a little more, before he glances at Steven. A slightly less ashamed and more pensive look comes into Brian's eyes at Megan's words, and Steven's almost bring a subdued smile to his lips. "Not tonight, Steven," he shoots back. "I appreciate the offer, but I've got a headache." Spirit-of-Words heads northwest, towards the rocky slab. From the rock outcropping, Spirit-of-Words comes towards the slab from the caern center. From the rock outcropping, Spirit-of-Words heads along the rough trail up along the wall. Steven chuckles, as he glances over at Megan. ~Ehn. You're not really my type, anyway. Tall, dark, and furry. I'll pass.~ Hope-Star has been watching Brian tensely, but her ears curl forward and relax at his last words. Then she turns her attention elsewhere, finally getting up the courage to whuff towards the elder Fury. Guides-the-Misguided-rhya? Megan laughs at Brian's words, then reaches out to squeeze Brian's shoulder gently, then Steven's. "Don't be making eyes at me, either, boyo." She winks, then says to Brian, dropping her hands back to her sides, "We thought we'd stay the night here and keep an eye on things in case anything came back to snuffle. Like we could drag Shea away, anyway. That okay with you?" Robert chuckles at the exchange between the Fianna, then nods at Nimue. "We need a moot," he agrees. Nimue lets her tongue loll out. Then we will have one, this full? Cutter wanders off into the woods, headed toward town. Robert grins and nods. "Sure. We'll have one this full." Stormcloud takes a deep breath of the moist air hee, then reverts to breed-form, returning to seriousness once more. He stands, preparing to depart. Nimue barks again, an obvious approval, then looks around for Falcon's Wing. Stormcloud contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Brian nods simply in answer to Megan. "Why don't you and Steven stick around here a while, and get a little sleep if you can. I'll wake you in a few hours." As he begins climbing out of the valley, his voice echoes down from above: "We will have a moot, this full moon." Stormcloud shifts into Lupus form. Brian heads northwest, towards the rocky slab. From the rock outcropping, Brian comes towards the slab from the caern center. From the rock outcropping, Brian heads along the rough trail up along the wall. Falcon's Wing catches Anne's gaze, and lopes over towards her. Nimue peers around at Sepdet. Guiding. I am not a good guide for the misguided. I should take a new name. Falcon's Wing, will you object, and do you think the others will, to patrolling more? Megan stretches out luxuriantly, then says, "Sleep, who can sleep at a time like this?" To Steven, she says, "Feel like a rousing game of rock-scissors-paper?" Hope-Star holds herself meekly, thinking perhaps you have guided many, lately. She thinks she would like to live after all, Rhya, if you don't mind. This is a good place. Thank you for passing news and gathering the Garou to think and plan, when...many of us were too frightened to dare hope. Truth be told. Steven shrugs his shoulders, snorting, slightly. ~Sleep. As if.~ He grins again at Megan and decides to set himself down right in the middle of the new valley, shifting into lupus. Steven contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Steven shifts into Lupus form. Falcon's Wing skids to a halt. ~I don't think any of us will. Not that we can patrol /more/ than we have been lately. But... you speaking of being Guardians in truth, here?~ Megan contorts and blurs as she is transformed. You concentrate to shift into Lupus form. Hope-Star will keep watch in the caern's heart, while her pack patrols the umbra and checks to see how the spirits are adjusting to their new home. It will be good to have a use again. Stormcloud heads southwest, into the hot steam. By the steam vents, Stormcloud comes into the steam from the caern center. Ravenfeeder shifts as well, then floomps next to Heart-of-Fury, beginning to tend to his wounds with a cleansing tongue. Nimue barks cheerfully. I will let you live. I have tried to guide lately. But we were not misguided. Just not hopeful. Maybe I should call myself Guides-the-Hopeful-but-Despairing. No, not forever. No more than a cycle of the moon, Falcon's Wing. By the steam vents, Stormcloud heads out of the caern toward the southwest. Robert's smile turns slightly wry as he says, "I should probably check out the wards, since I /am/ the Warder." Falcon's Wing doesn't look terribly horrified by the idea of being a Guardian for longer, but chuffs an assent. ~Sounds good to me. This will be a good place to Guard...~ Hope-Star looks more than pleased at Nimue's friendly bark. Then she and Joseph head towards the waters. Despite the words of the Fianna Galliard to the contrary, he soon finds himself nodding off to sleep. Apparently the energy of the excitement and the fighting, as well as the gentle care from his packmate all taking their toll on him. He soon falls fast asleep. Hope-Star heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Hope-Star approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Hope-Star's eyes stop on her reflection in the pool at the base of the waterfall. By the waterfall, Hope-Star gazes into the pool at the base of the waterfall, and suddenly she vanishes. Nimue gives an agreeing thump of her tail against the ground. It is just that there will need to be Guardians. I will like guarding for a time. We should patrol now, maybe. Falcon's Wing's own tail wags vauguely, bannerlike. I think patrolling now would be a fine idea. I can't sleep anyway, I'm too excited. Robert goes northwest, into the swirling wind. In the windiest area, Robert comes into this quarter from the caern center. Nimue puts her ears a little further forward. So am I. We will guard for you, Peacekeeper, for a few nights. In the windiest area, Robert nods back towarsd the center as he heads out to check the wards. "Thank you. Especially until I know how warded we are, the more, the better." In the windiest area, Robert heads out of the caern and up the valley. Nimue turns back to Falcon's Wing. You choose our route. Falcon's Wing gives a general survey, looking about, and then whurfs. Waterfall. Come? Falcon's Wing heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. Nimue heads southeast, towards the waterfall. By the waterfall, Nimue approaches the waterfall from the center of the caern. By the waterfall, Nimue trots after her packmate, still cheerful by the lines of her, but more alert and less bouncily cheerful as she applies herself to the job at hand. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing bounds upwards, cheerfully, but making sure not to miss anything, either. By the waterfall, Falcon's Wing starts along the trail up to the rim of the valley. By the waterfall, Nimue starts along the trail up to the rim of the valley. ---- Recall end ----
